Here's a quick whip-around the news in Carolina athletics. The Los Angeles Clippers made Reggie Bullock the 25th pick in last night's NBA Draft. New Clippers coach Doc Rivers said the team needs more shooting, and that's why they chose Bullock.  The Kinston Free Press was there at the Woodmen Community Center when Bullock got the news. Baseball is set to begin play with NCAA Super Regionals this weekend against South Carolina. Game One is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, but Tropical Storm Andrea may have other plans. An announcement will be made by 11 a.m. about the game's scheduled first pitch. Game One will now begin no earlier than 3 p.m. Adam Lucas has a great story about the last time the Tar Heels and Gamecocks met in Supers, in 2007. That was the final series in the old Bosh. Welcome to the weekend. On Sunday, Carolina women's lacrosse came home with the first NCAA championship in program history. It took a thrilling sudden-death overtime match, but the payoff was well worth it. Don't miss the terrific work done by UNC New Media on this series of videos. How was your week, Carolina baseball? It's Memorial Day Weekend, but before you bust out the grill or head to the pool, make sure you're all caught up on what's happening in Tar Heel athletics. Women's Lacrosse is in the Final Four in Philadelphia. They'll face off with Northwestern Friday at 5 p.m. The winner will play the Syracuse/Maryland winner Sunday at 8 for a national championship. Welcome to the weekend! It's time for the exam break, so it's a rather quiet weekend in terms of Carolina athletics. Track is at the Duke Twilight meet on Sunday. And that's it. Baseball has the weekend off, Women's Tennis begins NCAA play next Friday. Both women's lacrosse and ACC champion men's lacrosse will learn their NCAA draw Sunday night. The softball selection show is not until Sunday May 12. Women's golf has NCAA regionals beginning next weekend, with men's golf following the week after. Greetings, true believers! It's a huge weekend in Carolina athletics, both in spring sports and for former Tar Heels taking their talents to the next level. Let's get to it. NFL Draft In the first round of the NFL Draft last night, the Arizona Cardinals selected Jonathan Cooper seventh overall, and the Broncos got Sylvester Williams at 28. It's a busy weekend in Tar Heel athletics. As you'll see, many Tar Heel teams are ranked among the nation's best and certainly worth your time. #1 Baseball hosts Duke Friday at 3, Saturday at 6 and Sunday at 2. Those games are available on ESPN3 and the baseball affiliates of the Tar Heel Sports Network. Saturday's sold-out game is Military Appreciation Day and features fireworks afterward. It's a busy weekend in Carolina athletics, with the football festivities and several spring teams in action in Chapel Hill. Football concludes the spring practice season with the annual spring scrimmage. Make a full day of it, with the Bell Tower Park opening at 11, an autograph session at 12:45, and the game at 3. The new Tar Heel uniforms will be unveiled and on display outside the Kenan Football Center. Happy Friday! It's another busy weekend in Tar Heel sports, so let's get to it. Carolina football's scrimmage trip to Greensboro has been canceled due to weather, so the Tar Heels will practice at Kenan Stadium at 5 p.m. Friday. The practice is open to the public.
