Tar Heel Monthly August 2012

The August 2012 issue of Tar Heel Monthly reflects on the 2011-12 Tar Heel year in sports.  Tar Heels of the Year honors go out to the Men’s Soccer team for the adversity they faced on the road to a national championship.

Turner Walston gives insight to the change of the official University of North Carolina web site, Coach Dennis Craddock sits down with Helen Buchanan to discuss how his retirement is a refocusing of his life. Amy Hoots provides readers a look into Hurbet Davis’ first basketball camp as a coach and father. 

This month features more behind the scenes into the lives of former athletes including Jawad Williams, who sheds a light on why Carolina is Home Sweet Home, and Mike Ingersoll, who brings back college memories of the daily scheduled class changes.  Woody Durham, legendary broadcaster, reflects back on his heroes over the years. Lee Pace explains how the new coaching staff is holding players accountable. The Voice of the Tar Heels, Jones Angell, gives us a look into how he is spending his free time this summer.
