FAQ for CWS: TD Ameritrade (note 20 oz. or smaller empty, clear plastic bottles will be allowed for water), ParkingTickets and General Admission Ticket and Entry

Team Hotel: Holiday Inn Omaha

Omaha Weather: Ten day forecast

Must Eats:

The Drover: My son is a firm believer that The Drover is sponsored by Tar Heel Sports. You are bound to run into other Carolina clad diners while feasting on a whiskey filet.

Zesto’s: Amazing milkshakes! An insider’s tip, you can mix flavors. Make sure to try several including my favorite: peanut butter, fudge and marshmallow.

eCreamery:  Open daily with custom ice creams for each CWS team.  Stop by and order the Tar Heel Meal (vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate covered waffle cone piece and peanuts).

California Tacos: In addition to the California taco, a must order is the homemade flour tortilla chips with guacamole from this family owned restaurant.

Ted and Wally’s:  Old fashioned homemade ice cream shop filled with vintage signs and antique furniture. A party for your eyes and taste buds.

Brewburgers: A local burger joint where the Old Fashioned with Cheese is a must try.

Nicola’s: Great Italian food for lunch or dinner located in Old Market. Note they are closed on Mondays.

Homey Inn: A great place to meet up with friends and celebrate the Tar Heels success while surrounded by rare baseball cards and vintage newspapers.

Must Visits:

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo: Take a ride on the SkyFari and walk across the rope bridge suspended over the tropical rainforest as you enjoy time with the animals. New to check out is the recently opened infield replica of Rosenblatt stadium including home plate, seats and foul poles.

Village of Boys Town: Visit the Hall of History and see a Roy Williams signed basketball right next to a Babe Ruth signed baseball. The Leon Myers Stamp Center houses the world’s largest ball of stamps.

Old Market: The historic cobblestone streets in the Old Market are surrounded by restaurants, taverns, antiques, art galleries and many more shops.

Memorial Park: A stunning memorial honoring killed or missing armed force members from World War II, Korea and Vietnam.  The park is also filled with a baseball field, playground, paths, trails and a rose garden.

Gene Leahy Park: Take some time from exploring the lagoon, waterfalls, gardens and walking paths to slip down the giant slides.

Get into to the stadium early, grab some sunflower seeds and get ready for the greatest show on dirt. Go Heels!
