Weekend Watch: February 22-24

Good morning! We've been working on a very special April issue: the 20th anniversary of the 1993 men's basketball national championship. We think we've got some great stuff, so look for that in your mailbox in mid-March.

Men's basketball looks to even the season series with N.C. State on Saturday. That game tips off at 4 o'clock on ESPN. Yesterday, Adam took a look at what the numbers say about Carolina's new rotation.

Women's basketball has a pair of games this weekend, as they travel to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech Friday at 8:30 (available on your regional sports network) and host N.C. State Sunday at 1:30 on ESPNU.

Softball continues to host the Carolina Classic with games Friday at 4 against Iona, Saturday at 2:30 against Iowa State, and Sunday at 3 against Penn State. Lori Spingola tossed a no-hitter to beat North Dakota State on Thursday.

Track is at the ACC Indoor Championships in Blacksburg this weekend.

The Women's Swimming and Diving ACC Championships are in Greensboro this weekend. Watch on ESPN3.

Baseball hosts Stony Brook in a three-game series beginning Friday. UPDATE: Games now scheduled for Saturday at 1 and a double header Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. The Seawolves made their first-ever appearance in the College World Series a year ago, and Carolina is the consensus #1 team nationally. Those games are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday, but be sure to check GoHeels.com or twitter.com/DiamondHeels in case of inclement weather. All games are scheduled to be broadcast on GoHeels.com. Check out freshman outfielder Skye Bolt on the cover of UNC's SCOPE magazine. I hear his teammates are excited for him.

Speaking of baseball, this 16 year-old Mariners fan believes Dustin Ackley is poised to break out in 2013.

And would you believe Matt Harvey and Henrik Lundqvist are pals?

Women's lacrosse hosts Northwestern Friday at 7 at Fetzer Field. You can watch that game on GoHeels.com.

Men's lacrosse will face off with Fairfield Saturday at 1 in Chapel Hill.

Fencing is at the National Squad Championships in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday.

Men's tennis takes on UT-Chattanooga at 1:30 Sunday, and North Carolina Central at 6:30.

Finally, the Kirk Urso Memorial Match is Sunday at 1 p.m. in Greensboro. The Carolina men's soccer team takes on the Columbus Crew in Macpherson Stadium. UPDATE: This game has been moved to UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium. All proceeds will go to the Kirk Urso Memorial Fund, which will help congenital heart research in partnership with the Children's Heart Foundation.
