Welcome to the weekend. It's a busy one in Carolina athletics as winter sports continue and many spring sports begin play.

The big story is Sylvia Hatchell getting her 900th win last night at Boston College.

It's an incredible achievement, as Hatchell becomes just the third women's coach in NCAA history to do so. Women's basketball will go for Hatchell's 901st win Sunday at 11:30 at Georgia Tech, on ESPNU.

Men's basketball looks to continue the solid play of late as they travel to ACC-leading Miami. That game tips off Saturday at 2 on ESPN. The Tar Heels will wear Carolina Blue Nike Hyper Elite jerseys.

Women's Tennis is in Charlottesville Friday through Monday for the ITA National Team Indoors.

Softball is in Baton Rouge, La. for the Tiger Classic Challenge. They'll play five games on the weekend. Tulsa at 12:30 and LSU at 5:30 Friday, Purdue at 10:30 and Hampton at 3:30 Saturday, and LSU again Suday at 1.

Men's Lacrosse faces off with Air Force in the season opener Friday at 7 at Fetzer Field.

Women's Lacrosse begins their season Saturday at noon as they host Florida. That game is available on ESPN3.

Also Saturday, men's tennis hosts Navy at 11 and James Madison at 6.

Women's golf is in Orlando for the UCF Challenge.

Wrestling hosts VMI Friday at 7 at Carmichael Arena.

Track is in Nebraska for the Nebraska Invitational on Saturday. The Tar Heels also have runners competing in Seattle at the Husky Classic.

Fencing is in Durham for the Duke Dual meets. The men compete on Saturday; the women on Sunday.

Here's a great story on Danny Green from the San Antonio Express-News.

Check out this very pixelated collection of Vince Carter's greatest college dunks.

Opening today in the Student Union: a portal to Duke. Basically a giant FaceTime/Skype connection between the two schools. That sounds fun. Now, where did I put that Companion Cube?

Charles P. Pierce of Grantland writes that the Ed O'Bannon lawsuit might force the NCAA to change its thinking.

Carolina men's soccer and the Columbus Crew will face off in the Kirk Urso Memorial Match, February 24 in Greensboro.

Finally, Carolina Brewery is celebrating their 18th anniversary with Anniversary Ale this weekend. They're giving away a commemorative glass to the first 500 beer customers on Friday.
