It's Friday, and so begins a busy weekend on the athletic calendar.

Friday at 7, Wrestling hosts Virginia. You can watch on ESPN3.

Women's Tennis is in Las Vegas for the Freeman Memorial Championship.

Indoor Track season begins with the Dick Taylor Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Men's Basketball hosts Maryland at noon on Saturday on ESPN. Yesterday on GoHeels.com, Adam wrote about the 2000 snow game against the Terps. I was a freshman that year, and remember rushing toward the court to get great seats. It was an incredible atmosphere.

This week, Lauren Brownlow wrote about the supposed phenomenon of teams playing above their heads when taking on the Tar Heels.

Prior to the varsity game, you can catch JV men's basketball taking on Davidson County Community College.

On Sunday, Gymnastics hosts George Washington and William & Mary at Carmichael Arena.

Men's and Women's Swimming have a meet with Virginia in Charlottesville on Saturday.

Sporting KC took Mikey Lopez with the 14th pick in the MLS SuperDraft on Thursday. Lopez was the tenth Tar Heel selected in the first round since 2000, and his selection marks the fourth straight draft a Carolina player has been taken in the first round.

Rasheed Wallace, who's been dealing with an acute stress reaction in his left foot, says his season is not done.

Rasheed makes a brief appearance in this video of the Knicks in London.

Here's a photo gallery of Tyler Hansbrough touring Hendrick Motorsports when he was in Charlotte this week.

Diversions

Bonnie D. Ford has a great column on Lance Armstrong.

The Associated Press says Manti Te'o perpetuated the girlfriend hoax even after December 6.

I saw Zero Dark Thirty and highly recommend it. This week, Arnold Schwarzenegger returns in The Last Stand. Arnold did an AMA on Reddit yesterday.
