Carolina Athletics

BASEBALL - All eyes around here are on Boshamer Stadium and the NCAA Regional. Carolina hosts Cornell, East Carolina and St. John's for a chance to advance to the Super Regional and toward Omaha and the College World Series. The Tar Heels open play with Game Two against Cornell. Weather has moved Friday's games up, so St. John's and ECU will begin play at 11 a.m. If you can't be at Boshamer Stadium, you can watch today's Carolina game at TarHeelBlue.com.

Play continues through Sunday (and maybe Monday). Carolina beat St. John's earlier this season, 8-4, on February 28, and topped East Carolina 1-0 in ten innings on April 25. The Tar Heels have not played Cornell this year.

Tar Heels in the Pros

NBA - Danny Green and the San Antonio Spurs lead the Oklahoma City Thunder, 2-1, in the Western Conference Finals. Game Four is Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.

MLB - SI looks at how exactly the Seattle Mariners put up 21 runs on the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.

NFL - David Thornton is back in Indianapolis, this time as director of player engagement.

NHL - There are no Tar Heels in the Stanley Cup Finals, but Game One was pretty exciting. Game Two is Saturday at 8.

Soccer - Just in case you missed it, former Tar Heel Billy Schuler had an outstanding goal Monday in Sweden. It was his first as a professional. Even if you don't like soccer, check it out:

Entertainment Picks:

Oh look, there's another Snow White movie.

I just read the first four chapters of Redshirts. You know how on Star Trek, you always knew the guy wearing the red shirt on the away team wasn't coming back to the Enterprise? That's what this book is about.

Sorry we're a little light this week. Time to get to the Bosh.
