Carolina Athletics

Well, here's the bad news: with baseball bowing out in regionals and outdoor track wrapping up yesterday, the 2011-12 athletic year has come to a close. But the MLB Draft happened this week, and there's a month until the signing deadline.

Tar Heels in the Pros

NBA - Bad news here, too. Danny Green and the Spurs were eliminated this week. But the Draft is coming up, so there's that.

MLB - Alex White takes the bump tonight for Colorado vs. C.J. Wilson and the Angels. The hot-hitting Kyle Seager and the Mariners start a series with the Dodgers.

MiLB - Tonight, the Durham Bulls will try to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Yankees. They'll have to do it against former Diamond Heel Adam Warren.

Entertainment

West Side Story continues at DPAC this weekend.

Wednesday, The Bouncing Souls are at Cat's Cradle. Here is my favorite song of theirs.

Prometheus, Ridley Scott's sort-of-prequel to Alien, is in theaters this weekend.

Last week, I told you I was looking forward to Redshirts, John Scalzi's Star Trek homage/satire that breaks the fourth wall. It's terrific. Here's a review.

The Beach Boys' 'That's Why God Made the Radio' came out Tuesday. And you know what? Considering they are all near to or in their 70s, it's pretty good!
