Welcome to the weekend. It looks to be a good one in and around Chapel Hill.

Carolina Athletics

SOFTBALL: Carolina is playing in the Athens Regional of the NCAA Tournament. Today, they'll take on Georgia Southern at 2 p.m. You can watch that matchup here. Play continues throughout the weekend.

MEN'S TENNIS: It's the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament, and men's tennis is also in Athens, to face Georgia. You can follow along with live stats beginning Friday at 7 p.m.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE: Carolina plays at Syracuse in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The game will be streamed online for free.

BASEBALL: The Diamond Heels continue their series with Virginia Tech, the last one of the regular season, with games at 6 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. Saturday is Senior Day for Jacob Stallings and Jimmy Messer. If you can't make it to Boshamer, Friday and Saturday's games will be streamed on ESPN3.

Tar Heels in the Pros

Danny Green netted 13 for the Spurs as San Antonio took a 2-0 series lead over the Los Angeles Clippers. Game Three is Saturday at 3:30 on ABC.

Tyler Hansbrough and the Indiana Pacers have a 2-1 lead over the Miami Heat. Game Four is Sunday at 3:30 on ABC.

Can't believe I missed this the first time around, but thanks to Colin Bates for the tip. It's a 2007-09 Diamond Heels reunion in Denver tonight, as Alex White takes the bump for the Rockies against Dustin Ackley, Kyle Seager and the Seattle Mariners. That's at 8:40 p.m. ET.

Entertainment Picks

Battleship opens today, and as much as we like Peter Berg and Taylor Kitsch for Friday Night Lights, we'd probably just rather go see The Avengers again.

Thrice is at Cat's Cradle tonight.

Artsplosure 2012 is Saturday and Sunday in downtown Raleigh.

Also, check out the Got to be NC Festival at the Fairgrounds.

Saturday is Stitch n' Pitch at the Durham Bulls game. Get your knitting done and watch a baseball game.
